Between the cooling temperature, the gorgeous leaves, and the comfortable clothing, fall is my absolute favorite season. And if you’re a bookworm like me, there’s no better fall activity than curling up by an open window with your favorite novel to distract you from the pressures of school. So, here are five novels to enjoy during fall!

    1. Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
A modern classic, Harry Potter is the perfect series to read when the leaves are just beginning to change. A large portion of the series takes place during autumn, putting you in just the right mood for the season.
    2. Dracula by Bram Stoker
Dracula is a great read to get you in the mood for everyone’s favorite fall holiday: Halloween! As one of the most recognized horror novels in history, it’s great for a reader who doesn’t mind a little fright!
    3. And I Darken by Kiersten White
And I Darken illustrates the life of Vlad the Impaler, the Ottoman-era Transylvanian prince who inspired Dracula. However, there’s a twist- in this historical fiction novel, Vlad is reimagined as a young woman! Dark and action-packed, anyone who likes a more serious read would love this book and its sequel.
    4. Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Mysteries are great reads during autumn, and what better detective is there than the infamous Sherlock Holmes? With four novels and fifty-six short stories to choose from, the mystery lover can do no wrong with this classic!
    5. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
If you love fantasy and sassy female protagonists, then this series is for you! Following an assassin navigating her way through an enemy court, Throne of Glass is everything you could want in a fall fantasy with lots of action, magic, and a spot of romance.
